What is Design-Build?

“We turned a rumpled napkin into a one-of-a-kind home.” This may sound odd, but one couple’s experience provides a good introduction to the design-build process. With a flash of inspiration, the couple scribbled ideas for their dream home onto a napkin. At our first meeting, they timidly pulled out the napkin. In a few months, that napkin became a magnificent home that thrilled the couple to no end. Transforming exciting ideas to blueprints to real homes – that’s design-build and it’s who we are.

The Interview and Questionnaire
Before we ever dig a hole or drive a nail, we learn what you have in mind. We strive to know all we can about your vision. We ask our homeowners to compile a “wish book” where imagination has free rein. With Saslow Design Build, dreaming becomes a reality.

Continuing the learning process, we provide you with a questionnaire that covers everything from the number of family members, to how you entertain, to seemingly obscure questions such as whether anyone has allergies (we have our reasons!).
In the process, the rumpled sketches move closer to physical reality.

The Design
Now the fun begins! Once you’ve selected us as your builder, we will enter into a design agreement and begin designing your new home. Using state-of-the-art computer technology and all the information we have compiled, your home takes shape as drawings and renderings for your review.

The Relationship
We work one-on-one with you during the entire construction process. Creating a home that lives up to your expectations requires commitment to the process and mutual respect for each other. Building a great relationship helps build great homes.
